Parent - Educator Network

The Parent—Educator Network supports effective parental engagement in schools. Our goal is to assist parents and educators by promoting effective partnerships through positive communication, collaboration, and training, thus improving education for children and young adults with disabilities.

Services available include:
-- District Parent Liaison training and support—Liaisons provide information and activities for parents and schools
-- Development of Parent Advisory committees and other activities which build parent-school partnerships 
-- Connecting families and educators with community, statewide, and national agencies and organizations that provide services for families and educators in special education
-- Consultation for parents and schools is available throughout the year to clarify concerns and guide collaboration
-- One-on-one assistance to parents and educators
-- Providing education, resources, and workshops to promote parental engagement in schools, including: 
    -- agency contacts
    -- books
    -- pamphlets and tapes on issues regarding special education
    -- parenting
    -- disabilities

Parent Liaison trainings are offered throughout the year. Fundamentals of Family Involvement and other family-focused trainings are offered to parents and schools.

General services from the Parent-Educator Network are provided free of charge to local school districts.

Parent - Educator Network is funded by the Wisconsin Statewide Parent - Educator Initiative (WSPEI).
